Background

This branch begins with James Peter Gibson (1835-1916), my Great Grandfather. He was both born in and died in Vankleeck Hill. His father, also James Peter Gibson, was born in Halbone, Muirkirk, Ayershire, Scotland in 1793 and died in Vankleeck Hill in 1879. He receives a grant of Crown land and built a stone house which is now a B&B. This Gibson line goes back to 1700.
